About Hoover/Shelby Art Association

The Hoover Shelby Art Association was founded to provide encouragement of individual and group development and enjoyment of all forms of art.The Association encourages cooperation and interchange between artists, teachers, students, craftsmen, publishers and others engaged in artistic activities; to provide a registry; to hold competitions and exhibitions; to promote the study and improvements of the arts; and to promote art by sharing resources and contributing to facilities such as libraries, courthouses, etc. The Hoover Shelby Art Association sponsors an annual Spring and Fall Art In The Park Show at Heardmont Park in the Metro Birmingham Area.The membership meets on a regular basis once a month, rotating monthly from the Hoover Library and The North Shelby Library.

ART IN THE PARK

September 24 brought the most perfect weather that Art in the Park as experienced in a long time: not too hot, not too cold, not too windy, and not rainy at all. It was a perfect day for an art show.

The art was fabulous also with an array of prizes being awarded:
